Myrte Beltman is a production designer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, specializing in the international art house film industry. Her distinctive style is characterized as graphically striking, with a penchant for the surreal.
Recently, she completed work on The Birthday Party, a family drama starring Willem Dafoe, along side Emma Suarez, Joe Cole and Vic Carmen Sonne. Produced by the Greek production house Heretic, the film is set in the late 1970s on a private Mediterranean island, where a wealthy tycoon, Marcos Timoleon, hosts an extravagant birthday celebration for his daughter and sole heir, Sofia.
Myrte's Sweet Dreams had its world premiere in the main competition at the Locarno Film Festival, where it garnered widespread acclaim. The film went on to win several prestigious Gouden Kalveren awards at the Dutch Film Festival.
Other notable works include Swimming Home (starring Ariane Labed, Chris Abbott, and Mackenzie Davis) and Torch Song (starring Carla Juri), both of which showcase Myrte’s unique vision and artistic direction.
